You may have read about the Paris bike scheme, but seeing it in action was really something. Pay a Euro, take a bike, and leave it at the next station. Rides are free for the first thirty minutes, so unless you’re a slow-poke, you can get a free ride. There are hundreds of stations and thousands of bikes. Apparently Paris is working on a similar scheme with cars!

I actually walked more, though several people at the conference used it and loved it.
