Makes no cents to me

I never knew why the nickel and penny were larger than the dime, and still don’t, even after reading this FAQ. Oddly, the 5 cent Euro is also larger than the 10 cent. Couldn’t someone have addressed this? It could have been a perfect system, as even the smaller bills increase in size by denomination from 5-50. (I haven’t been lucky enough to hold anything larger, but found out this is true all the way up to a 500 Euro bill.)

It was way too late to get into the Euro bill tracker, but perhaps I’ll take a closer look at another time.

I continue to embarrass myself by referring to currency as dollars. I should get over this since the Euro is worth more …
