First, there is the difficulty of translating any decent book into a movie. I’ll admit not having read Eragon, though Gabe had. In addition, any film with dragons, sorcerers and epic battles will forever be compared to the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. However, even on its own, Eragon just isn’t a good film. I remember watching the Fellowship of the Ring, knowing how the story ended, and still feeling fear and suspense that the main characters were about to meet their fate. Eragon was predictable, choppy and not even Jeremy Irons, John Malkovich and Rachel Weisz could save this movie.

Hmmm…a great cast – don’t you hate the fact that it was still lousy with such good actors?
