Flat

It’s funny, driving along these single track roads in Ireland, I wondered what it would be like to change a flat tire. I’ve actually never had to change a flat tire in my life. Thankfully we woke up this morning to find Lisa’s tire comfortably flat in the car park, shielded from the persistent rain.

One flat tire in 19 years is a pretty good average, and it wasn’t really my car.

I’m reminded of visiting my grandparents as a young kid in Pittsburgh on Christmas Eve. It was a terrible night, cold with driving rain and we got a flat. My Dad pulled into an empty parking lot and no less than three passing vehicles stopped to offer help. How nice is that?

The first flat tire? Amazing! That’s unreal that you remember that Christmas Eve night. I hit a huge pot hole – and as I remember I had a few festive “toddy’s” that night!
